In June 2026, BlueGrid signed a strategic partnership with the International Electric Marine Association (IEMA), the international trade association for electric and hybrid marine propulsion, at the Advanced Maritime Technology Expo in Amsterdam.
The maritime electrification sector is global, fragmented, and moving fast. What it has lacked is a common language. BlueGrid and IEMA believe data is that language — one that benefits any organization, in any market.
IEMA brings an international network of more than 100 member organizations across four continents, spanning vessel builders, drivetrain and battery manufacturers, charging infrastructure providers, and major ports. BlueGrid brings the intelligence layer: AI-driven simulation, vessel energy modelling, and analytics that turn complex operational data into decisions.
“We’re setting out to be the international marine intelligence layer that helps marine electrification, on land and at sea, happen faster and better because of the presence of better data,” said Andrew Boswell, CEO and Co-Founder of BlueGrid. “IEMA comes at this from the industry side, we come at it through data and intelligence — and we’re both focused on helping the industry scale globally.”
“IEMA represents the industry globally and regionally, regardless of country of origin,” said Adria Jover, CEO of IEMA. “Data is the language that gives us confidence — it’s a tool we must support, back, and disseminate, because it can be adopted by any company in the industry, at any stage.”
Together, BlueGrid and IEMA are connecting global industry reach with data intelligence to scale marine electrification worldwide.
